Fairfax Nearly Save the Day at Birmingham Cricket International

When Matthew Love took a call from National hire company Speedy Direct at 1.30 pm on Wednesday 29th May, the future of the following days’ one day international ICC Championship Trophy warm up match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was hanging in the balance.

Speedy had been asked to provide an All Terrain Fork Truck to Edgbaston Cricket Club to carry out some essential work prior to the first ball being bowled and they turned to the Selby based Plant Hire Company for help.

The team at Fairfax immediately sprang into action and by 4.30pm a JCB 926 was loaded and en route to Birmingham and by 8.30pm it was on site and working.

A fantastic response by FPH much appreciated by all concerned. Unfortunately the weather had the last word as the match was rain delayed and then cancelled without a single ball bowled.
